I know, I know, keep plugging on, rah, rah. I just get in a funk a lot about being in the hole. We should be farther than we are, things are moving so slow, we can't get things done to the house that need done....
I have a budget working. Each penny is accounted for. I made sure I did'nt over pay to the CC's so that we feel deprived or overextended... and now we just chug along. Lost the fever for the challenge. Impatience has taken hold.
Anyway, enough of my rant!

It certainly happens quite a bit, doesn't it?
It does for me anyway.
Don't worry though. It's normal.
And it will get better.
I am glad that this site is here, because it does help fight the funk.

Or upping the free events you attend. If you aren't feeling deprived or over-extended maybe this is what normal feels like? So increase your chugging speed a bit more or if you REALLY want to speed it up have you sat down lately and brainstormed for additional sources of income to accelerate your paydown?
Funk I think is natural. Even chugging at some point you'll reach what I like to call critical mass and soon overcome it and be on the downhill side in the race toward freedom. The proverbial tipping point. Then watch out because you'll be facing the finish line and the adrenaline rush is fantastic as you get closer!!
Good luck Boomeyer and feel better! We're over here rooting for you and your family!!

Try taking one line item (or 2) each month from your budget and re work it as a family. If you can shave money from a catagory, add the initial months savings into a fun fund for all to share. (add the savings from following months into your debt reduction plan)
Pick a Debt: Have a chart or a paper chain (good project for the kids) and visually mark the payments as the debt goes down. Pick the smallest one so you can get some rewards chalked up and use the momentum to pick the 2nd one to work on.
As a family; pick a project monthly to do for anyone in a tougher situation than your family. Helping others is truly great medicine for a funk.
Will keep positive thoughts headed your way..........hoping your funk is a temporary situation!!
