End of November stuff

December 1st, 2006 at 03:37 am

Well, still trying to heal and get through the pain. Healing is hard with three kids on hand. They had a half day of school yesterday, got out early today because of snow and will be off tomorrow because of the weather! Then... the weekend. No rest for the weary! My DD1 has been awesome and helpful. You never know what you will get with those teenagers! DD2 is laying low, but DD3 has been a spoiled menace.
It has been sleeting and pouring ice for the last 4 hours here. Glad we still have electricity! The snow is supposed to start after midnight and come down in about a 6 inch amount. Yee haw, no more 70's!!
Paid bills today. Got the check from our old escrow account with the old house loan company, but I have to make sure that someone is paying the real estate taxes! This happened to us once before when we switched loans and I had no idea no one paid till the state came a-knocking! So this time I will cover my rear and find out who needs to pay!
Friends of ours braved the horrible weather and brought us a delicious dinner for the family!! They are so kind! Any ideas for a thank you I can give them?

Glad to hear you are on the mend! I'm sending healing vibes in your direction!

A personal old fashioned handwritten note of thanks goes a long way I think. Would they want something back or for you to pass it along when you can?

If they are the pass it along sort of people then tell them in the note that you will pass it on in memory of how they helped you.

And maybe one day they will need something and you can help them out!

    I'm glad you're feeling better...

Do you cook or bake anything special, like cookies, pie, or some other type of dish? If so, why don't you surprise them with that once you're up and around...

How nice of those friends!!! If I take someone food after a surgery or illness, I do not want any reciprocating...but rather would prefer a pay-it-forward...i like the idea of a note and a promise to do so!

In any case, I hope that recovery is a quick one and that youre back into your routine soon!!

The surgery pain will get a lot easier to deal with after about a week, though you will still feel bruised for quite a few weeks, its just a different type of pain, a better (is that the right word?) pain. I'm sure your friends don't want a payback, although if they are ever in need after surgery, of course, you would.

Enjoy the weather. It wears thin quickly, but its fun the first day of a new snow.

Hang in there; you will feel better soon. Just be sure to thank your friends; that's all that's needed. A really nice thank you card with a personal note will make them feel wonderful.
