I just wanted to let everyone know what a great inspiration you are! I am a poster child for "What not to do". My no spend day ended in $20 in junk! :-( Very depressing. But then I get on and read about how well you all are doing and I feel revved up again. Need a way to carry everybody around with me for when I'm in the stores or talking myself into eating out!
You're all an inspiration

Go to www.stretcher.com and they have great articles on giving yourself a small reward while achieving your financial goals.
You need to sit down with your spouse and work out a budget and see where you can cut back and take even a little of what's leftover for yourself. Write down everything you spend your money on -I bet you could cut back a bit on groceries and carve out some money for yourself from the grocery budget, even eating out. What I have been doing is allocating an amount for the month and this is my budget to play around with and it includes take out and eating out. If we eat out too much then I try and see if I can cook frugally for the rest of the month, and avoid the bakery, stuff like that. I keep track of what I spend every day and add what I have spent the end of each week.

I love the stretcher sight!
The "B" word is something we have never used. We pay the bills, save some and spend the rest. You are right that we should have a budget and probably set some more concrete goals! Again, thanks for the great advice!
