What numbers tell you...

July 17th, 2007 at 11:29 pm

If you look at my magic numbers over to your left, you will see my shameful secret. I am frugal, I know what to do, yet I am racking up $1000 more in debt on AVERAGE per month. The stock market may go up, but we are getting poorer. Some was put on because of the cruise and the trip to Disneyworld. The rest is probably food and junk my kids wanted and I spoiled them with. I do bad things, like not telling myself NO! So I will challenge myself, although I have done it before and simply and easily talked myself out of the challenge for whatever "good" reason I may have come up with, I will challenge myself to see if the last number on the line can go DOWN in one month. Think I can do it???......

Wow, I'm so sorry. It's no fun seeing those numbers rise.

Maybe a more detailed post in the forum will yield ideas you can use to get that number down or at least prevent more of a backslide.

    Whatever you decide, good luck.

I know you can do it, remember we all fall off the wagon sometimes we just have to dust off and get back on.

Of course you can do it.

Seems to me your downfall is your kids. Smile

Short of getting rid of them, what are some things you can do (or not do) to hold the line when it comes to the girls??

Looks like you need to put the charge card away, freeze it and keep it in the freezer for emergencies. I quit carrying my charge card with me so I would not be tempted.

Maybe I could sell the kids on ebay?? Smile Just kidding!

Yes, contrary, they are a downfall and I am a spoiler. I have been trying to spoil them at home with little homebaked treats and stuff. It will help when they go back to school. DD3 starts tomorrow! Smile
Ima, I did take my CC's and DH's CC's (except one for him) and put them away. I have overdraft on my debit card and I TOO frequently use this to my advantage. I need to keep in my mind, when the money is GONE, it has to be GONE!!

katwoman, unfortunatly I KNOW what to do, but its having the nuts to do it, to say NO!

Amber, thank you for the nice words! Too often I "fall off the wagon" and maybe if I am harder on myself instead, it will help more!

Thanks everyone for your encouraging words! I even went online last night and paid 3.53 to make my total number an even number! A little psychological thing! Wink
