Blow your top at a top off??!

August 8th, 2006 at 06:40 pm

The threat of gas prices going up I decided to top off my tank. Filled up at 2.87, then topped off at 2.99 (gee, what a bargain!) with threats of it going up to 3.19. I still showed over 3/4 of a tank, but it was almost $20.00 to TOP OFF! Yikes! Its hard not to get frustrated when getting gas.
Food prices too, are crazy! Even barring the coupons and the trains! We only get double up to .35! It is HARD out here! Glad to be taking this ride with great people like my bloggy friends!

It's all related. Rising costs all along the line are passed to the end user (that's us), so higher fuel leads to higher food and so on.

I haven't bought gas in two weeks, but I've been watching the pump prices. If you really want to see a potential cardiac arrest, stand by while one of those full-size SUV drivers fills his tank. You might even learn a few new words along the way. Smile

My husband drives a van for work and he says $60 won't even fill it. I guess it is time to raise his hourly wage to pay for gas!!

I have seen the SUV driver fill up and she said the pump stops at $100 and won't let you put in more than that!! Scary!!!!!!!!

Here in Michigan, we are up to $3.34/gl. Most of our gas stations stop you at $70.00. What is up with that. I mean afterall, who cares who you sell the gas to, as long as your are selling the gas.

It is one of those, you fill up to the maximum at one gas station, drive down the road and fill the rest of your tank up at another gas station. So, it is kind of stupid, cause you are giving your customers to another gas station by not letting them fill up. Just my opinion.

I have'nt been out today to check out prices, but like Ima and Flash say, the cost will be passed along - very shortly!

We have one gas station that is very stubbornly holding out at $2.99. Even all the other Arcos are up to $3.03 and then the lowest is $3.12. Still, the other non-cash only gas stations are topping out between $3.19 and $3.22. And just two weeks ago it had started going down to $2.95. Sigh.

Hi Kathy, thank you for the kind words. You have no idea how much they meant to me - I was feeling kind of weepy after entering all my debt. I guess it is as a result of the regrets. Went to bed thinking "yeah, someone out there thinks I can do it"
    Have a great day, Bronwyn
