Is any one scared of the spooky ghosts and goblins popping up in local stores in AUGUST?? Or even more terrifying - in the next aisle you find SANTA and his reindeer!! The horror!
Our local news even had a story on this phenomenem and they titled it the "Christmas Creep". It crept from December, to November, to October, to September, to August, to the good old "Christmas in July"!
"They" say they are getting indicators by early sales on what people are buying, so they can stock the stores with the "hot" products. LETS NOT BUY IT!
While at first I had to have a recovery time to digest this cramming of Christmas cheer down my throat, I now look at it as the encouragement to finish my Christmas shopping, frugally started last January, at least by the end of September. Barring the urge to pick up jingle bells and holiday doodads, we frugal folks can celebrate the encouragement to get the job done!

Back to School. Sigh.
I guess in a sense, Back to School season is keeping Halloween in its place. Wouldn't do to get the hype factory mixed up.

I'm old enough to have seen the seasons kept in line, with Christmas things in December, etc.'
I have decided to let the stores know that I'm frustrated, although I know my shopping habits aren't going to change a thing, but it makes me feel better.
I do my gift giving shopping throughout the year, so I don't have to go in the stores all fall (hopefully)
And, I can really see the back to school thing as being a hot spending time. The ads geared towards such little kids, to have the coolest things, to fit in, etc.........are making me a bit crazy. Another benefit to home schooling!!!
