Not quite brave enough

June 8th, 2008 at 06:14 am

I put the CC's away. I was'nt brave enough to cut them up - YET. But I did take them, seal them in an envelope and then wrap packing tape, round, and round, and round, and.... well, you get it. Just to make it daunting to get out. I thought about freezing them too. Will have to see if I have to go that far.

The stimulus check should come in a week or so. It is all accounted for. Just paying things off and using a bit for our vacation. Oh, and we had to put a new alternator in the van. DH did a good job calling around and we got it for $300.

That is a very good step. You should be proud of yourself!

yes, the best tip i've heard is freezing them in a container of water - but you have to make sure that you freeze the container half full of water, then put the credit cards in, then fill the container with water, so that the cards are in the centre of the block of ice.
obviously that's some EXTREME anti-credit card measures! i've never needed that, but i thought it might be helpful!

That is very good. I keep mine in a bank bag, safely put away.

I haven't cut mine up either. I have charged in over 6 months but somehow that cutting is scary. I could freeze them though! Cold Hard Cash would have a completely different meaning!
