Drumroll for the numbers (or HOLY GUACAMOLE!!)

February 1st, 2010 at 04:26 am

Ready for some pee your pants fun! I am totaling the numbers for January. I have done as instructed by all the money guru's and kept track of all my spending. I have NOT included regular bills, medical (except for medicine) or DH's spending. Here we go:

Eating Out - $262.30
Entertainment - 7.08
Walgreens - 160.75
Gasoline - 158.31 (I drive a lot for my job)
Walmart/Target - 217.56 (This is usually for toilet paper, beauty products, some groceries, pet items, etc.
Misc. - 249.95 (This included stamps, car inspection, lottery, fundraisers, car wash, Petco)
Groceries - 812.63 (Holy crap! That is $203 a week for a family of five!!)

SOOOOOOO...... GOALS
Eating Out - $200
Entertainment - $10
Walgreens - $100
Gasoline - $150
Walmart/Target - $150
Misc. - $150
Groceries - $700

I am not going for miracles here, I am going for accountability and baby steps. Maybe I will beat my goals and maybe I will fail! We have our anniversary and Valentines this month, Superbowl, plus DD3 will start soccer, etc. so misc will be up $100 already! Wish me luck!

Maybe you can keep your Superbowl cost minimal. Veggies, chips and salsa. A little beer. Smile

Your post reminds me of my elderly friend who finally had surgery for her cataracts and lamented seeing all of the dust in her house ... It had always been there, she just wasn't able to see it before!

I know you can do it! Clarity, accountability & baby steps will carry the day.

You can do it! Valentines and the Superbowl don't have to cost much.

Yah, I'm not too worried about Superbowl. We are going to someone else's house for the party. Not sure what I'll take, but since we're a family of five, I try to take something filling and something sweet. I already have cards and some candy for the family for Valentines, just depends on if we get pizza or something.
